Retail Skills
These qualifications are awarded at level 1, 2 & 3 in Award, Certificate & Diploma and allows people to specialise in the retail industry and to progress to a higher level of technical and supervisory skill. Candidates can specialise in a number of areas that will allow them to fit in to specific roles within the industry including working with photographic equipment, working with specific food types and visual merchandising of products.
Candidates at level 3 can develop their technical skills even further into areas such as finance arrangements for customers and planning for the whole business. In addition, they can develop the skills which will enable them to manage people and resources.
Advice & Guidance
Advice and Guidance offers learners the opportunity to work with clients from a wide range of backgrounds and cultures many of whom have complex social, physical and emotional needs. Providing impartial and confidential services in advice, guidance and advocacy plays an essential role in encouraging and enabling people to manage their own lives.
The level 2 qualification was aimed at workers who are in administrative or customer service functions, but who are aiming to become practitioners. The level 3 qualification was aimed at practitioners who work directly with clients, disseminating advice and some level of guidance. The level 4 qualification was aimed at fully developed and experienced practitioners who provide guidance and formal advocacy.
These qualifications ultimately offered learners a progression into other areas such as community development work, health and social care and youth work.
Warehousing & Storage
These qualifications allow learners to specialise in distribution and warehousing. The award at level 2 covers the skills required across workplaces in the industry, whilst allowing you to specialise in areas such as the storage and handling of high risk goods and materials.
The award at level 3 includes the skills necessary for the management of sophisticated stock storage and distribution systems, as well as providing the opportunity to develop people and resource management skills.
Customer Service
These qualifications are for people in customer-facing roles who want to boost their skills. Level 2 focuses on problem solving, developing good customer service and supporting new improvements in customer service. Level 3 covers implementation of new initiatives and team leadership.
Learning & Development
This qualification is designed for those who identify and agree learning aims and programmes for individuals and who are developing training sessions for learners. They may be involved with delivering training and development in the workplace or in training establishments. Learners will cover: developing a strategy and plan for learning and development, identifying the learning and development needs of the organisation, and to creating a climate that promotes learning.
At level 3 learners need to complete 11 units, seven of which are mandatory:

Career Planning
Again this award is accredited by Asdan and is achieved at level 1 and 2 by means of producing a portfolio of evidence. The objective is to increase self development through self awareness, action planning and work related activities, stimulate career exploration and critical use of information and enhance career management, negotiation and presentation skills.

Team Leadership
The Award in Team Leading is a concise qualification designed to give learners a basic knowledge of the various roles, functions and responsibilities of a team leader and the limits of their authority and accountability. The mandatory unit in ‘Developing yourself as a team leader’ is a good starting point for team leaders who are new to their roles or for aspiring leaders who wish to gain a solid understanding of the principles and practicalities of team leading.
The ILM Level 2 Qualification in Team Leading has been specially designed for team leaders (with limited authority for managing resources) that are looking to motivate their team members and achieve agreed outputs. The qualification aims to give participants an opportunity to develop the core competences needed by today’s team leaders.
Management
The Award in First Line Management is a concise qualification which gives an introduction to the basic skills, knowledge, and understanding required by today’s first line manager. The mandatory unit in ‘Solving Problems and Making Decisions’ is designed to develop practical techniques for tackling managerial problems and decisions from gathering and interpreting information through to the effective communication of outcomes.
The ILM Level 3 Qualification in Management has been specially designed for first line managers with responsibility for; managing budgets, allocating work to team members/colleagues/contractors, achieving specific results and for some decision making. The qualification aims to give participants an opportunity to develop their management performance, become more effective and to progress their career.
PX2
This award is certificated by Pacific Institute and is achieved by means of following a work book, group & personal activities and through discussions. This course is highly motivational and inspirational to help young people take control of their lives, and become more focused on their goals.
Steps (Steps to Excellence for Personal Success)
This award is certificated by Pacific Institute for adults and is delivered in a group setting by means of activities, group discussions using time to reflect on their own practice to help make their version a reality. This powerful tool helps people to move forward with a positive identity setting realistic achievable goals.
